Life after retirement E-mail

For many, life after retirement is an opportunity to reflect back on a life well spent. It is a time savored with grown up children and young grandchildren, traveling, and pursuing interests and hobbies that were once set aside. However, for many others, retirement age is a time of isolation, regret and self doubt. Depression is a common mental illness in this population. As a result, drug use has doubled in the older population from 1992 to 2008, while suicide is highest among males 75 and older and women between the ages of 45 to 54.
